It doesn’t get higher

Hello everyone!

Sorry, I was way too busy to type a new entry, but I always thought about it… now I can take a break and I am not too tired to use it for sleep 😀

I wanted to update you that we moved to the next cabin which is about 500 m higher than the last one so we are 2.200 m above sea level. This cabin is even more smaller than the other one and the mountain is way steeper here. The air is thinner and everything is a little bit more strenuous maybe that’s the reason why I am more tired these days than I was before. I don’t know but we were told that this could be a symptom of anemia you get when the air is thinner. The pigs and chicken are sleeping too all the time so it might be right.

Here we are right next to all the other alps on the mountain and our cows are on a big meadow all together. So we have to find our cows out of 150 in sum! It’s such a great picture when they all come down the mountain together and it’s so loud because of the bells they wear around their neck. I enjoy it everyday! And the meadow is so beautiful, there is a little Valley which is called amphitheater  (just by us, not officially) because it looks like it. There are so many chamoises, we have a herd of 50 animals here, which is very rare. The valley is also inhabited by groundhogs… I never thought there were this big. One day I wanted to get the cows and suddenly there was one about 5 m away and first I wondered what a racoon is doing there in the middle of the day until I realized that it was a groundhog. So cool!

Here are some pictures, enjoy and have a great time! I’ll try to post #2 of the daily routine soon

Much love from Tess and Richard

This is the ‘amphitheater’ and I know it doesn’t seem really big but if you zoom in your can see a red tiny little thing on the more or less left side. This is a human! It gives an idea of the dimension.

Here you can see a part of the 150 cows which get down the mountain everyday.
